What do you recommend to go see on a bucket list tour?

Early Ford foundation in Auburn Indiana, and two in Mich The Henry Ford in Dearborn also the Gilmore in Hickory Corners.

It would be nice to visit us here in Vacationland...The Owls head museum is a hoot

100% dedicated to the preservation of 1932 to 1953 Fords. Definitely a bucket-list item if you haven't been there.

Also, not Ford, but Auburn has the Auburn, Cord, Duesenberg Museum which is not to be missed.

I went to the Gilmore campus, thought it would take two days to cover everything, but didn't enjoy it as much as the V-8 Foundation Museum and didn't return the second day.

A really great general museum is The Henry Ford in Dearborn where you can visit many other important nearby venues.

If you decide to do both the Gilmore and The Henry Ford, then Willow Run is along the way.

Another non-Ford museum I'd shout-out is the Museum of the US Air Force in Dayton OH.

I loved the Gilmore, more for the other makes/models. The Franklins are a must see.

When we were in Mich.a trip out to Frankenmuth was a nice "not car related" adventure day.

The Gilmore and Henry Ford are both well worth a visit- neither is dedicated to flatheads.

Last time I was at the Western Reserve Historical Society in Cleveland I saw one of the Stainless '36's. There is an amazingly diverse collection, much more than cool cars. That took several hours of our time.

I haven't been there but isn't something associated with "Speedy Bill?" Museum of American Speed? Isn't there rare flathead blocks and speed parts there?

And a couple of places on the west coast that sell parts, help me fellas? Early Ford Parts in San Dimas?

If I could swing by H&H Flatheads for a lookey-loo I'd go out of my way for that. No idea if they put up with that kind of stuff.

I just watched an Iron Trap Garage video on the Model A museum at Hickory Corners/Gilmore (they're doing a series on Gilmore). I found this one of the three or four best ones there. The parts department is really cool. Also there's a retro diner on site. The hood ornament collection was a good 30 minutes to look at. https://youtu.be/w7QWLZo90t8

Don Garlits in Florida had a really tasteful set of mostly stock flathead exhibits when I was down there ten years ago. And much other eye candy. I think some superchargers for flatheads? I mean just standing next to a 10K HP drag engine gives you the shivers.

Dennis Carpenter's place in Charlotte? That still got a lot of flathead stuff?

And the Owl's Head recommendation is another good one. Not so much flatheads, airplanes galore. I was there the day after they'd done a car auction so there were cool cars to see also.

Yep, Speedy Bill has passed, but his "SPEEDWAY Motors" is still alive and well
as far as I know. And Yes, there is a Showroom there with all kinds of rare and
very Exotic engines and Cool racing stuff.
SPEEDWAY Motors is in Lincoln, NE., and Definitely worth seeing the showroom.

Lincoln, Nebraska is were you will find Speedway Motors museum. If flathead performance is included in your bucket list, this place, would be nearly the first cab of the rank.The twisted front axle is some thing to see

The Speedway Museum in Lincoln is "THE" place for flathead Ford performance, not just V8's, but ALL Ford engines. Starting with a 1935 Miller Ford at the entrance, and 160,000 sq. ft. devoted to all forms of performance engines. Included is Ed Winfield's 1st (1930) cam grinder, Leo Goosen's drawing board, a large room devoted to Harry Miller's engines, and over 300 different flathead V8 manifolds.
Well worth a visit!!

I’ll also sing the praises of the Speedway Motors museum. I had the good fortune to have had a Ford/racing conversation with Speedy Bill, surrounded by his trophies, to be followed by his escorting and narrating his fabulous collection. Bill loved showing his collection to appreciative fans! RIP, Speedy.
For those going to the Gilmore, a side trip to the Studebaker Museum in South Bend is worthwhile also.

I have not been since the EFV8 Foundation moved all of the "stuff" they were storing at Don Garlitt's Museum of Speed in Ocala FL BUT I do know he still has "several" Flathead's and related stuff in there......FOR around these parts it's worth a stop........also a lot of his history of drag racing!!!!

Not Ford racing history, although they do display a Model T speedster, but it has all the early Harry Miller racers (prior to his association with Ford in 1935). Very interesting and then of course their is the Porsche connection.
Stopped there during this years Daytona 500 trip.

If you ever get down to Florida, check out Don Garlits Museum in Ocala, it is loaded with Flatheads. Don is a real Flathead Fan.

Definitely visit the Early V-8 museum in Auburn, Indiana if you like old Fords especially flathead V-8's.

I love the entire display especially the '36 room' it has every model of Ford offered for sale in 1936. Well put together.

This is the neatest old car museum I have ever visited.

Yes the A-C-D museum in town is neat too, and the old Art Deco showroom and stuff is great!!
