Coil
The best coil to use on a 1949 Ford with a 8BA Engine with the original distributor set up? Thanks very much!

Go to Napa and get a 6 volt coil for a 49 ford. or any new old stock.
One good thing they don,t need a resister. |

I was at NAPA today per chance looking for the same thing, a coil for an 8BA.
They have one, Part #IC-7SB. It is 6-Volt and says right on the coil "No external resistor required". $19.99 |

When it says on a coil "no external resister required "does that indicate the coil has 3ohms of RESISTENCE?. Thanks,

The volt meter wasn't to test the coil, he was currous about the ohms rating.
