Default '40 Front Brake Hose Part #

Does NAPA or others have a part number? Trip around the Valley looking for the part, example and Ford part number in hand was a lesson in my antiquity. It was like a comedy act. Many of you already know the script, young clerk with mouse in hand declaring that they have nothing for 1940. What is the thread? We have no way to measure. Those that may know or sell are at least an hour through the toughest traffic in years. Learning to dislike manual trans... Thanks: Fred A

Why not call C and G or CW Moss for the hoses? Probably price wise they would be about the same as Napa.

I have always had excellent experiences with Rock Auto. And the variety! You can get $5 Chinesium parts or pay 4 times as much for Name brand parts. (No indication where the "name brand" parts come from, though.)

Rock Auto bravely lists part numbers that are universal and with the number I found the parts locally and without the wait. Thanks for the tips. I recognize that we need C&G and other sources but their use of shipping for part of the profit scheme rather than a true improvement in service turned me. Thanks: Fred A

Ford part #99A2079 cross references to Raybestos BH7600. I have F1 brakes on my “41” pickup and the NAPA part# UPS 5784, not sure if the wheel cylinder thread is the same. Hose is 16” long with a 3/8-24 thread on both ends, male on one and female on the other.

Ford went to a replacement number sometime in 70s. The number used w as A8TZ 2079 A. I have not run that number in a long time, but any Ford parts guy could run it and find out.
