Roll down rear window roll down or no?
When I acquired my 32 Coupe project I wasn’t sure if I was going to have the rear glass sealed into the body or roll down as original. This is a modified vehicle and not stock however it’s not chopped and I’m using original door hardware. I’m now trying to decide if I want to go ahead and get the parts for the roll down rear window since the box that holds it appears to be complete and stock. Any comments on roll down rear window as opposed to sealed in glass on a 32 Coupe?

Just keep in mind that they do not roll down all the way, just most of the way.

Re: Roll down rear window roll down or no?
I've done them both ways. I have found that I rarely used the roll down feature in either my 5 window or 3 window. In light of that I did not do a roll down window in my last 5 window and elected to put a wood bottom in the window framework and install the glass with the same u channel style rubber used on the quarter windows which should eliminate any moisture intrusion in that area?

Keep in mind you will also need to put a drain hose in the metal tray below the window and route it outside the car. In my opinion, I would follow other suggestions and make the window permanently sealed.

Re: Roll down rear window roll down or no?
The original purpose of the rear roll down window in the coupe bodies was to allow communication between passengers in the rumble seat to converse with the front passenger compartment.
For the first fifteen years that I owned my 36 coupe I put a lot of miles on in, many of which were in hot summer conditions. Since the rear quarter windows in a pre 39/40 coupes don't open, it was pretty handy to roll the back window down to vent the heat out of the passenger area.

Cowl vent opened a crack, back window down a crack = Flow thru ventilation.

Have a '36 five window, run with the back window down a lot. Make sure you have the drain system intact as mentioned above. I always roll it halfway down at car shows and it gets a lot of "did they really come like that?" questions.
