Amp gauge
My amp gauge show dischard when running. Are the gauge wires cross ?

Like B-T-N said, make sure the battery polarity is correct. If it has a 6v generator then the polarity should be + grd. If it has an alternator it could be anything.
An easy way to check the ammeter is to turn the lights on [ key off/not running] and see what the ammeter does. It should show a discharge. If it doesn't then the ammeter is connected backwards. Its normal show a discharge when running at idle, it show a charge as the engine speed is raised. |

A little history would probably help. Did you just change the ammeter before the problem started (probably wired it backwards, reverse them)? Did you just replace the battery (probably hooked the cables up wrong, reverse them)? Are you worried about a discharge at idle?
