Who can tell me about these A's?
Hello Gang,
I've had my '29 Tudor for about 10 days now. I've done a few fixes and put 100 miles or so on it already. Im learning as I go. While cleaning up the inside I found this behind the back seat. I tried to do a search and learn about the club but they don't appear to have a website. Can any of you long time A guys fill me in on this club? This hat belonged to the guy who owned my car before the guy I purchased the car from. He would have been the owner who put 5000 miles on the car and earned the MAFCA sticker and patch. That was about 7 or 8 years ago. Thanks! Ted |

Like you said they are not listed in either national club but they were a MAFCA club around back in 2013 for an event in Vegas and were mentioned here on Fordbarn also in 2013 with dues of $20.00.
Their contact address was: 9051 Carson Street Culver City, CA 90232 They met on the, 3rd Tuesday 7pm Kayne Eras Center, 5350 Machado Rd, Culver City [email protected]

I was a member of the Screenland A's. The club is no longer active but the old members meet the first Saturday of the month at the local I-Hop for breakfast. Culver City is about 400 miles south of San Francisco. How about a picture of the car and I will see what I can dig up.

That's too bad that they are no longer active, but its good to hear that a bunch of you still get together. Any information you could dig up would be great! The car has some very unique turn signals added to it. Shouldn't be difficult to remember. Thank you! Ted |

Hey Charlie,
Did you ever get the opportunity to bring this up with your IHOP Breakfast Club? Thanks Ted |

Re: Who can tell me about these A's?
I grew up in Westchester 5 miles south of Culver City. MGM studios (now Sony) were in Culver City so I'm sure that's where the name "Screenland A's" came from. A neighbor of ours worked at MGM in the prop dept. He brought home Jack Benny's Maxwell a couple of times to work on it for the Jack Benny show. On one occasion he rigged it so when the fender was slapped the head light popped off. Albertson Oldsmobile was in Culver City on Sepulveda Blvd., they had a very large red Rocket on display. Left that area 40 yrs ago got to crowded.
