Default interior tacks

So, on say a coupe, when you install the tack strips above the doors and down along behind the doors to hold the wind lace in place how do you hide the heads of the tacks?

Don't the interior panels (ie, quarter window, and the strip above the door) once installed cover the tack strips (and tack head).?
I looked on my '29 Coupe and have a hard time locating a tack, even in the headliner, the material should hide a staple or tack.. kb

Brads with the smallest heads possible are most often used to go thru the (fabric) upholstery just enough to hold the "cardboard" panel to the wood, or backing strips on some cars. Then an upholstery needle is used in the hole left by the brad to pull the upholstery fabric out enough to clear the panel. If the brads are driven too hard or deep, that may tear the fabric.

Exactly the way I have done it. Staples are fine for the windlace so as not to get in the way when nailing down the cloth covered Card material. Small heads at this point to ease the cloth over the nail, then the last bump to snug it.
