Default '29 roadster upholstery question

How many yards of material should I buy to upholster my '29 roadster drivers seat. It has a seperate back and separate seat spring....

Depends on what you want. Pleats or plain. On average most upholstery fabric runs 54 inches wide. You need to calculate (add) boxing's ( seat bands ) and welt cord.

Yes, 'Trimmer Bob' is correct on the 54" width however just to add to that. Depending on the pattern of the vinyl, you may need a bit extra to allow for grain direction when you are nesting your piece-goods.

Also, I am assuming you are doing both the seatback and the cushion? Just as a heads-up, you may want to purchase 10 yards (which is generally the price-break qty.) so that you have enough to do the door panels, kick panels, seat side upholstery, and the seatback cardboard at a later time with material that matches.

You will also need to get foundation muslin, piping cord, duckdrill or denim decking, and a few other things besides the vinyl.
