Default '50 F-1 Panel Floor

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum but would appreciate any help I can get on what the correct wood flooring should be used in the rear of my panel truck. I'm trying to get the machine as close to original as I can cosmetically while updating the drivetrain to a more modern ride. If there is a thres on this already please point me in the right direction and if anyone has some pics, I really would appreciate it. Thanks for your help.

Thanks, I had seen some with beds laid in them like the trucks and then most others always had carpeting covering it (now I know why). Mine has the Plywood floor but thought maybe someone had pulled out the original floor in the past. I appreciate the feedback. On to the chassis...

Did they even make plywood in 1950? Before my time.....

I had a '51 panel years ago, it had painted boards and metal strips like the pickups.

They did indeed have metal skid strips (qty 4-7C 8212605 ) and an optional rear mat ( 7C 8213020 ) for the panel trucks. THere are no illustrations for the floor in the panel or pickups in the Nov 49 copy of the 44-52 Body parts catalog. No reference to the floor at all. I'm guessing they figured if you needed a repair to the floor, you'd procure it locally. Because they list strips, I am more inclined to go with boards.
Yes, plywood was around in 1950, remember PT boats were plywood during WW II. It wasn't cheap, so I doubt it was used for a floor in the panel trucks.

My 1951 F1 PanelTruck has a solid piece of plywood, the skid strips had been removed. Individual boards were not used by Ford as they could allow intrusion of exhaust, dirt and water. The kink with the F1 floor is that it is actuall eight and a half foot long, so that off size rules out your local HoMoDepot. I need a floor for my PT and am thinking about offset lapping three sheets of 3/8 plywood, but then I would have a visible lateral seam somewhere to deal with. I have also checked with a custom cabinet builder and he quoted me cabinet grade paneling for about $125.oo....
