Bert's in Denver...The best swap meet ever...
Bert's in Denver did it again...I found just what I was looking for in the name of 1929 rear backing plates and crank bearing.
Best continious swap meet around for original Model A/AA Ford parts! 1. www.modelastore.com Bert's in Denver (Colorado) Pluck Last edited by Steve Plucker; 02-06-2014 at 04:46 AM. |

Pluck, very true. I had the pleasure of visiting their place a couple of years back. Very good resource for used and new parts and great people to work with.

They were very helpful when I needed a hand wiper for my 29 CCPU. Sold me an original and got me the windshield tube to mount it. They are the greatest.

Re: Bert's in Denver...The best swap meet ever...
I have bought many part's from Bert's they are the best In my opinion, Steve and Phil have gone out of their way to satisfy me over the years. That being said, Phil has been retired , one good guy. Steve also.

I almost never call Berts. I get in the truck and go there!
The place is so much fun and invariably I end up leaving with so much information I wasn't even looking for.

Called them yesterday. -20 degrees outside.
I just ordered the parts from them, I don't ask price because they are fair and shipping is always actual shipping no handling, box fees, or profit added.

Re: Bert's in Denver...The best swap meet ever...
I was in Denver, last September and went to Berts. It was Monday, they were closed.
Someone stopped by and said they are closed on Sundays and Mondays. |

Thanks for the kind words guys. Love these cars and love helping getting them back on the road. We have been closed Sundays and Mondays for 34 years.

I have visited there a few times, which is saying something since I live in California! Great place, Steve is a great guy and very knowledgeable. In the picture I'm talking to Steve, the owner.

Re: Bert's in Denver...The best swap meet ever...
I've gotten some original parts in amazing shape for prices that were great, even less expensive than repros in some cases. I'm envious of you guys who can just drive over! But shipping to Texas is pretty quick!

Re: Bert's in Denver...The best swap meet ever...
I honestly believe that the testimony clearly shows that Steve's prices are fair but one other thing that needs to be thought thru is the cost of an item at a swap meet is not just what you pay the vendor for the item you buy, it is the total cost involved to purchase that item.
For example, if Steve sells you a nice front crossmember for $150 plus $20 for freight, then you have $170 in the item however if you go to a swap meet 100 miles away and then buy one for $75, not only do you have a day of productivity wasted, you have a tank of fuel invested $80 plus admission to the swap meet ($10.00) and the wear/tear on your vehicle. What is the cost of that crossmember now and which is the better 'deal'? What would the price of that crossmember become if there is not one at that swap meet?? |
