Default Ecta flathead recor attempt ohio

We are loading up for some more flathead fun in the sun in Wilmington Ohio
This weekend. The ECTA group runs land speed runs on the old dsl hub landing strip.. More info at ECTA-lsr.net.
We run a 1949 ford f100 with flathead in xf/PP. Flathead production pickup.
Record is now 101 mph.
Wish us luck, stop by if in the area.

Our truck is red and white can't miss it.......

Well between rain storms and two days of drying spells etc , we got in two runs (both in a hard headwind). Our best run was 97 mph.
I think we have decided that the little motor (265 ci) needs to come out and into retirement, and make plans for next year with a larger engine.
Rules allow 325 cubic inch.
With a 350 rear axle we are turning 4300 rpm in the mile in high gear..
Stay tuned..
