Electric Wiper motor (Vintique)
Does anyone have a Vintique wiper motor installed in their 40? I bought one to use however the instructions are slim at best and the bracket does not seem to be set in the correct position to work with the existing mounts. Photos and diagrams would be very helpful.
Thanks in advance. |

I really am sorry to bring this advice. Is there a chance you could get a return refund. I know. However...

Re: Electric Wiper motor (Vintique)
I know Vintiques instructions aren't very clear. Installed their wiper motor in my '41. Laying on the floor, looking up , trying to figure out if the drawing is upside down or what.
Finally just mounted the motor and tweeked the brackets to fit. |

Re: Electric Wiper motor (Vintique)
Sorry Mark but a Newport Engineering wiper would have been a better choice. The unit I installed in my '54 Ranch Wagon came with clear instructions and I was able to install it with a minimum amount of four letter words.

I'm sure you'll be able to figure it out. Assuming you already contacted Vintique tech support? You might also check over on the Hamb to see if anyone has any ideas.

Yes; That is a commercial motor and we have them in the local buses. Will work, but some fiddling is required. the 'stroke' can be too long and too powerful. Newc

Re: Electric Wiper motor (Vintique)
Your original bracket for the vacuum wiper sits flat against the firewall. there's a cutout in the firewall pad to allow the bracket to sit flat. You may have to trim the pad to get the repo bracket to sit flat. I installed one of those units sometime back and I did have to trim the pad,
The stock holes in the firewall should line up for the repo bracket. |
