keep in mind that a B motor is thinner in the valve area. They crack there often, and especially if someone thinks seats are a good idea, which they are not.
I would check with Jim B. 4.030 is kinda big.
They are also way tougher to seal the rear main because of the pressure oiling

tbirdtbird ---- Thanks for the information. As the motor was pressure tested I did not think there would be any problems with cracks in the case valve area. I feel like you that 4.030" bore is real risky. Can anything be done to help seal the rear main?

forever4 --- Thanks, for good news.

Still need to make sure a "B" block will handle 1.750" intake valves?

Is 4.030" to big a bore on a "B" block?

Does anyone know of a place to buy solid copper or hi performance composite style Model B head gaskets for a 4.030" bore?

I am starting to build a spare engine and am looking into using the 283 pistons. I know antique engine rebuilders used to list them on their website but I no longer see them. Does anyone still make them or know where to get them? Plan on giving them a call but was curious if anyone here had some insight.

Are we talking about the head gaskets or 283 stile pistons?

On 283 stile pistons with correct model A pins,
Pete's Machine 505-836-3110

4.030 & 4.060 head gaskets
