Default Shock rebuild?

I have four model a shocks that I have gotten apart and cleaned up and was considering rebuilding them. However I think I may be having second thoughts.

They’re not that bad if they are ,in fact, rebuildable. There are/were some articles about such that are accurate. Maybe YouTube…I haven’t looked
For best results do not mix parts. Rebuild all parts to a specific shock with that shock.

I guess my question is, how do I know if they are rebuildable. They do have some pitting on the internal parts, and show wear on the shafts. I would love to keep the original shocks with this car, but I also don't want to waste my time and money.

Your description would lead me to believe they would not hold pressure to act as functional shocks. They are rather close tolerance devices.
