Default Model T year id

Try to find out what year this model t is. There's a number stamped in the wood BF31818. The motor number isn't legible. Electric starter, metal seat frame, coil box under dash. I'm thinking it's an 18

No title. It came from an old farm and has a Shaw tractor conversion on it last ran in the 60's.

The cowl is 23 or 24 closed car. There should be a casting date on the same side as the engine number - it will be back & down from the water inlet.

Great looking tractor. Are the front wheels cast iron?

Cast iron. I don't see a casting number.

The casting no. should be about where the one in the picture is. Some later blocks had a round no. insert. The last no. is the year - this one being 1917.

They stopped the casting dates around 1922 or so.

That is good information. It explains whey a casting date cannot be found on the tractor.

It is then possible that the engine fits with the cowl at 23/24.

I would say it's a late 23 thru early 25 and yes a coupe or sedan.
Cool project.

Sometimes the serial number can be brought back by using a liquid dye penetrant used by piping contractors to detect cracks in piping systems. The slightest indentation will show up.
Just a thought.
