Did you inquire at Fastenal? Usually good rates for that type of shipment. Finding a private individual going between two specific places may be like winning the lottery. lol

I've read on a few different forums where Fastenal isn't doing that any more.

I've shipped large parts via Greyhound, but it's been quite a while ago.

I have shipped large boxes by 6-horse stage coach but that was quite a while ago.

I recently used Fastenal to ship a large item half-way across the country, so they definitely ARE still doing it. My item was about 200 lbs and loaded on a pallet. Cost me $160. Fastenal's freight service is Blue Line Freight - you can request a quote online thru Fastenal website.
Your box should probably be strapped to a pallet to make it easier for them to handle |

Good point.....I think Greyhound would be the most cost effective way to go.

Yeah, no way Greyhound will take a 240 lb box. They don't have forklifts, it's just porters lifting things by hand.

I have no personal experience w/them, but I've heard that Estes is good to deal with.

As to The Dog (Greyhound) NO! But it is too heavy
It took 7 weeks for me to receive a cabby door from Oregon (to TN) They told me to file a loss claim when it showed. Had many stickers on it like a steamer trunk ! They only move things when spare space shows up on a bus. |
