I am trying to buy an antique car in Napanee, Canada located about 2 hrs east of Toronto. I am afraid to do the pre-purchase inspection myself because of my Covid vulnerable age over eighty and the requirement for a Covid test two days before entry into Canada and the same test when coming back into the US, which, if found to be positive, would require isolation in Canada.

I have found a few companies on the internet near Toronto who do these inspections but have had no replies, perhaps because they are shut down for the winter. My inspection would not happen until the roads were clear of snow. This car is a 1935 Packard, not a Model A. Using a local or even regional Packard club
Member for an inspection would likely be a conflict of interest because the owner is quite well known and, I believe, a club member himself.

Does anyone have connections for this kind of work in Canada or have any ideas how I can get an honest inspection on this car? Of course, the individual would be compensated for their effort.

I think I am aware of the vehicle because I collect prestigious cars. The price, I think $125,000 dollars scared me off. R&M in Chatham, Ontario would be my choice to evaluate the car. Wayne

Thanks to both of you who answered. I contacted both Fawchett and RM and neither will do inspections and evaluations nor could they recommend any one else who would. Perhaps Fawchett would do it in different times but they said they were slammed with work now. My search continues.

look up the list of appraisers in hemmings........ they are numerous and maybe a few will be in Canada?
