Re: 39 rolling chassis / pricing advice
There are lots of variables possible...
Let's assume that all the components are well used... It takes quite a bit of time to overhaul EVERY little thing. There are aftermarket frames available, the body is the hardest component to get. I would figure the market for the easy to sell sought after parts, axles, steering, rear end, transmission, pedals, brakes. Then consider that a seized engine is very likely to be expensive or unlikely to fix, frames are not rare. Add that up. Think that your market is limited to those of us who have storage. AND, where are you located? Karl |

Re: 39 rolling chassis / pricing advice
Figure $100 core value for each major component (and including clean title), add or subtract $100 for distance from major cities = $400 give or take.

All ways keep it a secret where its at.
You may have to brake it down to sell it. my guess $1000. |

Re: 39 rolling chassis / pricing advice
It would have to be in good shape for 1,000. I know it has a motor. But I would see that as a bonus if it is good. If you were going to even use it. You have to think of all the what ifs. And why not say where you are? I'm actually looking for something like this. He might be pretty close or may not be.

Re: 39 rolling chassis / pricing advice
What kind of repair does the frame need? I don't see it being worth $1000.

I bought my rust free California 1938 rolling chassis for $800 no title.
Engine was stuck but sold it for $200 |

Re: 39 rolling chassis / pricing advice
Somewhere between scrap value and a few thousand dollars depending on what you have and where you are located.
For instance, I would think a 39 convertible frame with title would be worth a lot more than a rusty 4 door sedan frame with no title. |

Re: 39 rolling chassis / pricing advice
Mick, with the availability of the new 40 Ford coupe bodies, I guess it should be worth a decent price to someone looking to put a car together maybe.
I don't know how it works in America, but over here the vehicles identity is based on the rolling chassis and the body plays no part in it for registration purposes....the way things are headed over in this country, a rolling complete chassis will be worth plenty. |

Re: 39 rolling chassis / pricing advice
I appreciate your input and advice guys . It is in pretty good shape except for the stuck engine , and the frame could be repaired . Even as parts ....there are a lot of usable components , heads , intake and ex manifolds , fan , front axle and rear end , springs , steering , 39 wheels , tranny . I'll try to post it if I can figure out how to add photos . Many thanks , Mick

Re: 39 rolling chassis / pricing advice
With no general location, such as "the east side of Dallas", or "the western 'burbs of Chicago", it may as well be in southern Timbuktu as far as someone trying to figure the logistics of trying to purchase and retrieve something like that. You were given good advice to list it's GENERAL location. DD

Re: 39 rolling chassis / pricing advice
I had a 39 rolling chassis and couldn't,t sell it as a whole unit had bad frame did get $200 for bear frame.
But all other parts had to be broken down and sold. I went to Burlington VT street rod show last week had a nice 39 roller no trans, or engine. They were asking $2000. |

Re: 39 rolling chassis / pricing advice
You can ask what you want. Don't mean you will get it. This stuff might go for a lot more in other places. But not down here. I've seen a few on Craig's list. They stay there a long time.
