I am sure you can find a good used one much cheaper than having yours rebuilt.

There are several 1932 Ford ammeters in the upcoming Gene Hetland ford parts auction. Just exactly what is wrong with your ammeter ? Does it not just work or is it burnt or damaged to look at. I have repaired many gauges but am in Australia. Regards, Kevin.

Kevin
As you see above mine is "stuck" at 10 (or 12). The needle giggles and moves as IF it were normally on "0" but its stuck there at 10. I am going to put it on an amp machine and try and run a negative amperage pull to see IF the needle moves like it should BUT even still It will need a repair of some sort!!!!

If you can't fix yours how about getting a US one and install your German face.

The old Model A instruments were easy to disassemble if you had the special tool to take the terminals apart but I don't know about the 1932 & later and especially those that may have been made in the country of origin. If there is a clock spring in there, it may be damaged or something slipped in the spindle shaft that the pointer is attached to. Some of the pointers can slip off center.
