Stuck engine, stuck trans
Trying to separate a 9T from a sideshift trans. Moisture has had an effect on this one. Engine is stuck, clutch is stuck, spline is stuck so nothing rotates. Soaking it with PB and then ATF. Any suggestions or warnings? I am not going to use the trans, should I give in and cut the input?

Re: Stuck engine, stuck trans
I'm for not much for cutting up parts. Soak and soak again with ATF/ Acetone mix and give it time. Tapping with a hammer will help loosen the rust bond, some like to use an air hammer set on super low, just to vibrate the connection points a little bit.
Basically employ soak, time and vibration...emphasis on time. |

Re: Stuck engine, stuck trans
The input shaft survives the best of any trans parts. I have a few laying around with everything else trashed. I would pull the inspection cover and torch the shaft.
