Yes but I modify the handle to make it more like the original. Mine is mounted directly under the tank with an elbow and I found the long handle a bit of a nuisance.

Ball valve. Added a star washer to mount the original valve handle on the stem of the ball valve so it doesn't slip. The original handle is not a perfect fit on the stem of the ball valve. A lock washer might have worked also. It can't slip more than a quarter turn anyway. Good for good and isn't noticeable!

I agree it is not just methanol . I’ve replaced many valves doing service work and the repro valves are terrible. Have another one this week that hasn’t been in more than 3 months and it’s not shutting off fully. I wish someone would make a good valve. The ball valve you have shown in your photos shuts off fine I’ll bet.
