1941 Pickup Gauge Cluster, Remove Needles?
I've got a 1941 Pickup with a stock gauge cluster, and I would like to remove the faces from the gauges to do some cleanup work. My question is, how do you separate the gauge from the face with the gauge on one side of the face and the needle on the other? Can I just pull the needles off the gauges (carefully of course) and then unscrew the gauge from the face?

Leave the needle alone. The face is held on to the gauge by 3 "crimped" spots around the outer edge. Carefully release the crimp and slide the face off of the needle.

^^^^ditto. You can slide the face off with the needle in place. Removing the needle is very fiddly and not recommended.

The only needle that will come off is the speedometer. The other needles are actually part of the mechanism. Trying to remove them will permanently damage the mechanism.
