I would first clean it really good . then run it & check to see where the leak is . if still not sure , use the oil dye for leaks . it will be very obvious then ........

Most guys including me find the rear main can leak if too full. When I change oil I only add 4 quarts, which puts the lever just below the full line.

BTW, 4 liters is actually more than 4 quarts.

I don't think this is my problem, Tom. I was careful at last oil change to not overfill above the FULL line on dipstick.

And don't even start on the whole US vs IMPERIAL pints thing! Ours is 20% more in every pint. Must be our generous nature! 🇦🇺

20% only if you go by the numbers. US fluid ounces are actually slightly larger than Imperial fluid ounces, so the Imperial pint is only 16% larger than a US pint.

So, how is oil packaged in Canada or Australia? When I was in Canada this past summer, the oil that I purchased was in liters.

At 99% of service (gas) stations here, oil is purchased in disposable 1 litre plastic bottles with a lip that's designed to dribble the first 100ml over the top of your motor.

Supermarkets have 4 litre containers and auto parts stores have up to 20 litre drums.

I'm aware of only one servo in my town that still uses the old style refillable bottles with the screw-on pouring spout. I see these at the swap meets for maybe $70!!

Same here in Canada as Hoogah described for Australia.

Like Hoogah says, liquids are by the litre. It's always a head scratcher when US instructions talk about fluid ounces. Most times, I end up taking a guess.

1 US Fluid Ounce = about 30 ML or CC (actually 29.573529564111873)

So when someone tells you to add 4 ounces of Marvel Mystery Oil to your fuel, that would be about 120 ML

That's good but I've never seen Marvel Mystery Oil here.

When I have my Imperial Pint filled at the pub, why do they charge me more, or under fill my German Pilsner pint?

I was in England in the 70's (Air Force), and the regular English Pint was 20 oz. So you got a good pint for your money. But the IMPERIAL GALLON (God Save the Queen), was 5 Quarts... God Bless The Queen! Had my share playin' darts!

I don't know where you can find it DOWN UNDER, MATE, but it is good stuff. I use it in my gas, and I've used it to clean valves and rings.
