1930 cowl band
I removed a stainless steel cowl band from a 1930 tudor, one side had the usual bolt that sticks in at 45 degrees. The other side did not have the usual bolt, but had 3 carriage bolt in the groove of the band and they lined up with 3 square holes in the cowl. I see the same 3 square holes in other cowls. It appears that these 3 bolts were a fix, because I can see where the 45 degree bolt was originally attached. Was it a fix? What were the holes in the cowl for?
