Default Barn Finds =next KiWi-L100 cam recipient

Last Saturday we drug home two awesome barn find pickups . Been in barn 35+ years , both very very solid with no visible rust thru from looking at out side . The older one has a "RAT" in it !!!.... Noooo not under the hood , under the seat , he enjoyed the 2 1/2 hr ride home , I had doors open while still on rollback for a couple of hours & then went to close doors & he was staring at me thru end of seat . I then had to feed him some green cubes , he is MASSIVE!! & I hate them .
Okay I know the suspense is killing you !!
A 36 pickup & a 48 pickup , 36 has a clean looking 8CM engine & the 48 is a 6cly also very clean looking . The 36 will for sure be a recipient for a KiWi-L100 cam ...... possibly in the form of a 21stud with SHARP heads & 4" crank .
the 48 will ship to New Zealand for my 87 yr old dad to play with .
There are pics coming & I will keep updating as we proceed ahead .
Cheers
Tony

Dang! Every time I see somebody else's great finds I start peeking in windows.

I start with mine, then spread out.

Some how I expect to get arrested before I get lucky!

Nice job and a very lucky Dad. Good for you!

Great find Tony. I fixed your Dad up with a Model A generator a couple of years back, a real nice old guy, he will be happy to have another toy to play with. That 36 would look good in my shed, why not ship them both back.http://www.fordbarn.com/forum/images...es/biggrin.gif

Thanks JM
34 Fordor glad you have met my Dad , he's a wealth of knowledge . Yes he sure is looking forward to this 48 . He owned 1 for about 40 yrs. Chris at Ford spares has it now .
Feel free to stop in & see him or give him a call , he would love it . Now I would love you to have the 36 in your shed , "BUT" it looks like too much fun for me to have right now.
Cheers
Tony

Engine apart & totally worn out !!! probably 500 miles from blowing up . Took longer than anticipated to get apart . # 5 rod had just barely spun . needs valve guides , crank grind , bored , rods rebuilt . We will balance it also . this is a really nicely designed flathead 6 . I can see me getting another 6 cyl flathead hot rodding it but Dad will want this pure stock ! Clutch is junk also as is ring gear
