1927 Introduction of Model A
I recently re-watched the History Channel's series titled "The Cars that Made America". Below is their representation of Henry Ford introducing the new Model A in 1927. I wonder how much of the information in the series is as accurate as the 1927 Model A.

Feels like there's supposed to be a picture here... did it not make it past the attachment window?

Dual rear view mirrors and chrome ring around the spare. Pretty fancy for just coming off the assembly line. Photo Shop?

Re: 1927 Introduction of Model A
I watched this show and they were inaccurate on so many levels. Very disappointing. It's like they either did not take time to research or just didn't think people would care.

Ford introducing a 1931 Model A in 1927. Just more Fake News, as if there isn't already enough out there right now to deal with.

Re: 1927 Introduction of Model A
They either don't care or don't know and just pass it off as fact. The majority of the people watching don't know and take it as fact.

Re: 1927 Introduction of Model A
I look at it differently. I blame the owner of the car. Shouldn't they have recognized that they were doing a scene that took place in 1927...but they showed up in a '31? Perhaps the History Channel considered the owner of the car to be the expert and took them at their word. Either the owner intentionally mislead the producers so they could get their car on TV or they don't know any better.
Also. I'd wager that if you ask Model A owners today half would tell you that the white walls, stone guard, trim ring, and dual side view mirrors were stock. -Tim
