Re: Shipping a Model A
Getting back to the LHD/RHD debate . What side of the road you drive on goes back to medieval times . When you approach another horseman you need your sword arm free on the same side as he passes you .This means you ride on the left side of the road / track . This was because most people are right handed . In USA and the rest of Europe maybe you did not have many dudes on horses with swords . I think most USA gunslingers must have been left handed . Just my theory .

Busy Eating
Contrary to popular belief - early Americans were eating burritos - sandwiches - jalapeño poppers - corn dogs - egg rolls with their left hand as they rode the trails ...

Try Kiwi Karriers. I've used them several times. Always good luck and I think fair prices. You can request an open or closed transport. Last Model A that I shipped was a roadster pickup. They showed up with a two car enclosed trailer. Usually a quick delivery - 10 days or less.

Re: Shipping a Model A
Most all who respond to an internet search will be Brokers. All Brokers work with a group of independent haulers who will respond to the Brokers offer. I just shipped from CA to ID with Allied Auto Shippers (Jonathon 254-372-1485). He was extremely accommodative and offered lowest rate by far. I learned after many other quotes that auto shipping rates are currently near all time highs, due to extremely high demand, especially in the West. Many will give unrealistically high quotes in hopes you will bite. GOOD LUCK.

Re: Shipping a Model A
Your gallons are so small you are being ripped off.
From the internet "Way back - at the time we all lived together - we had used the Queen Anne's gallon of 3.785l to measure wine. We also had different volumes and names to measure both beer and grain. When we realised that this was silly, in 1824, the UK chose a single imperial term and lumped together all three measurements, picking a roughly-average volume and calling it a gallon. American colonists, though, stuck to tradition and kept just the Queen Anne's volume for their own gallon definition. Fun facts about gallons A ten-gallon hat does not hold ten gallons. It's actually from the Spanish galón, which means braid or plait, and is named for the decoration around the hat." |
