Default Door Alignment

I think this would apply to all our old Fords. In my case I am trying to align the doors on a 37 pickup. They both sag so that the door latch and dovetail don't line up. They are low about a quarter inch. The hinges are not worn and are tight. Can I heat the lower hinge and bend it back to raise the door, or is shimming the hinge the only way?

The structure behind the doors' lower hinge may be the culprit. Check out this site...

Great link, Thanks Binx. The approach they show may be a little too hard for some us that are mechanically challenged. Any simpler, yet effective approaches that work for stock assemblies?
