Used parts source
Looking for a bunch of original used Ford head stud nuts, 7/16-20 SAE x 11/16 wrench size. The original nuts had a slightly raised bearing circle on the bottom of the nut. My usual suppliers like Fred at SSO, and Ray in RI didn't have any. No way is am using any new repro stuff, ARP or otherwise. I am Sending them out to be blasted clean and parkerized. Thank you Fordbarners.

Re: Used parts source
I just got a set of head nuts from Mike at Third Gen that were "washer faced" and plated like original. AND I'm a industrial fastener supplier.

Re: Used parts source
Are you describing the 3 nuts that are used to mount the oil filter? If so, I have three in my stash. They are available.

Re: Used parts source
Here comes my daily broken record posting... If you want a chance to get good parts, correctly fitting, get in touch with 35fordtn, or Michael at Third Gen Automotive in TN.
He's been able to look at one of my orders, and throw a few more bits into the box because he anticipated the roadblocks in my way before I even knew they were coming up! Without them I would never have been able to bomb my '35 beater 2k miles last summer while having it bring me back to my driveway. His team is the cat's meow. And BTW behind every great operation is a great woman. Jane we always root for you! Charlotte is a jewel.

Re: Used parts source
The first time I ever saw those two rascals was at a V-8 Club National meet in Springfield MO, a thousand plus miles from home for both of us, and about 3 minutes before a proper deluge.
I had just finished chomping on a famous HWY61 chili-dog and heading back to shelter. I spied some unknown-to-me folks in a 32 Phaeton in front of their hotel (not this pic/hotel I don't think) and shouted something along the lines of "rain is coming" and drove off as fast as I could to the comforts of my enclosed trailer (in my '36 Phaeton)… They looked at me like "What? We got this under control, you yobo." but I don't think they said anything that I could understand before I dashed off. Their look was so-100% right. What a noob I am/was. I had just met Yoda's Padawan and my schooling began.

Re: Used parts source
Cool man, I smile every time I see that photo. Most old car family photos taken after that one include my precious daughter...
Jeff, actually that photo was from the Springfield meet! |

Re: Used parts source
I didn't/don't know what a Yoda's Padawan is/was, so googled it....dunno, some bullshit character in some starwars movie[s]? Dunno, never seen any of that crap....So, then I googled 'noob', - ah; at least something I can identify with.
This sort of stuff brings home to me how absolutely out of touch i am with the modern world we live in. Duh!!
