Any truck in Maine that still looks like that should be in a museum.A Model A truck native to Maine that looks like that has to be one of the rarest things in the state.I may have looked at that truck before,if it is at a salvage yard there. If it is the one,it was not for sale when I saw it.

Twelve-Grand????!!

These yokels have a totally distorted sense of inflated worth for these heaps . . . especially in the bleak outlands of Maine. There ain't no money in Maine and in some regions up there folks in fact regularly use the barter system. Friend from Boston bought a farm with good buildings and 35 acres of land up in Maine near Round Pond about three years ago. Paid $55K cash! He tells me that hard money is still so scarce in that region that the locals trade for goods and services all the time. A few bucks up there goes a long way.

Smile Re: found an A for sale

I just found this post so I thought I would take a few minutes to reply and provide an update on this truck. I ended up purchasing the truck in December after some long process negotiations. As the gentleman pointed out, we have no money here in Maine so purchases like this are very difficult . I was able to acquire it for more in the accepted range posted here.

The truck runs well and had been converted to Hyd, brakes sometime during its lifetime. It also had some collision damage on the right side which appears to be the reason for the damage mentioned to the front fender (which caused them to remove the spare tire well on that side, was a dual side mount). The running board, splash shield and rear fender were also damaged with repair under much filler. Remarkably the only rust is on the bottom rear of the cab. I am going to repair that correctly at a later date. Currently I am doing better repairs to the rear fender and replacing the running boards and passenger splash shield and fixing the front fender and returning it to a dual sidemount. I hope to do some temporary paint work and use it this summer and get to know it a little better. If I am inclined I may make a winter project of it and get fancier for next year. I kind of like the patina it has, though.

The truck found its way to Maine through a couple from Connecticut that had a summer place here in Maine. They had owned it for many years, I believe dating back to the 60's. The lady used the truck as her daily driver at times both here and Connecticut.

If anyone has knowledge of the trucks history I would sure appreciate knowing more. In 86 years I'm sure it has a lot of stories to tell.

thanks! Mike in Maine
