Serial number on 1931 Model A truck question
puttering this morning while waiting for the garage to warm up enough to play and I decided to see if I could find what the date of manufacture of the 31 Budd cab truck I just acquired was. It is A4846xxx which I find to be a Feb of 32 manufacture. This is the number on the registrations back to the 60's and it is the number on the block. Does this make the truck a 32 instead of a 31 or possibly not the original engine?
On a side note I got my bendix spring and put it on yesterday and I think today the starter goes in and I am going to let the smoke out of this beast for my first time. The starter was broken when I bought it. I had heard it run and saw it drive a bit when I first looked at it a month ago... hope it still goes! thanks! Mike in Maine |
