Default What year is my engine?

VanPelt says a 1939-42 block has three openings between the center cylinder bores, top one is triangular and the two lower ones are trapazoids. A 45-48 block has the top one triangular and the two lower are round holes. This block has a triangle on top, circle in the middle and trapzoid at the bottom. Any help?
