Default pickup cabs

I recently picked up a couple of 30-31 pickup cabs and the seem to be different. cab 1 has metal top bows, not sure if the other one had metal or wood. Then cab no.1 one has a metal brace around the inside cab back. Cab no 2 had wood across the back,I guess you would all it the belt line wood. So can someone tell me what I have?

No. 1 is a late 1931 Budd-built "all-steel" cab with steel bows and steel roof.
No. 2 is a mid-1930 to mid-1931 Ford-built cab with wood bows and fabric roof.

This is unconfirmed until you post some photos.

There may have been overlap of production for the two types, I'm not positive. Pluck and some others would know, lets hope we hear from them.

The all steel Budd cabs are considered by many to be desirable because they are 'cleaner' on the outside, but they tend to ride noisier.

You'll find many of the Budd cabs are paired with the larger wide beds. That's my observations anyway.

If its a late 31 Budd cab, it should also have the indented firewall
