Default Gas Gauge Gasket

There was a lot of discussion here a while back regarding the use of cork versus neoprene when installing the gas gauge. Many reported leaks developing with the neoprene gasket perhaps due to the crap gas we now have. Some questioned whether some of the gaskets sold were actually made from a material other than neoprene. The consensus was in favor of cork. The cork gasket in my coupe never leaked a drop in 50 years in the family - i only pulled the gauge to replace a soggy float.

I see that Bratton's and other vendors no longer carry the cork gasket, only neoprene and am curious what you folks think about the currently supplied neoprene product.
