Does any Vendor have an entire top 'kit'
I need everything for a new top, but do not know what 'everything' is.
This is what I am starting with (photo below). I have a couple restorer books and Clymer restorer books, but none give a breakdown of the parts required. What you see is what I have (other than a replacement bow for that broken one) Is the visor needed to get the top installed, as I have not found an original one yet?

Even with L-B you have to get the new chicken wire (poultry screen) at the hardware store.

Re: Does any Vendor have an entire top 'kit'
I just did the job with a kit from Mac's. Everything included but the wire. Nice stuff and went well. Patience is the key, and best done when it's warm.... nicer fit.
You'll want the visor installed prior to doing the front hidem strip.

Re: Does any Vendor have an entire top 'kit'
As I recall, there was also a strip of padding under the poultry netting (the clerk at Farm and Fleet didn't know what chicken wire was) over each of the wooden bows on my '29 Murray Fordor. That material doesn't come in the kit. Check your wooden bows, if there are witness tack holes across the top of the bows, those would have been to hold a small strip pad. The wire is only tacked around the edges. When the vinal is streched across the padding, the padding should not "show" by lifting the vinal up around the edges.
The top can go on without having the visor on your '29 Tudor. I suggest that you clean and paint all the sheet metal under the top material before you install the top. It has been my experience that, by far, LeBaron Bonney supplys the best top material. Gar Williams |

Re: Does any Vendor have an entire top 'kit'
I didn't think the chicken wire was there from the "factory"??
There seems to be some question on the coupes. I think some had it, some didn't. I left it in, as my car is going to be driven, and it adds a lot of support to the roof system. This car had had a roof replacement years ago, so it may have been added then.
