Default any sealing in the oil-filter-unit?

Lately, i am trying to do some pre-season-adjustments...

As i cant resist to have a look for the valves and the lifters,
i try to take off the side-cover.

Never did that on this engine...
I am pretty sure that i will have to screw off this nut
and im pretty sure that this has to be leak-free once
its re-assembled.

Any sealings behind that nut or how is it sealed?
(got to prevent that oil is pressed thru there - right?)

Thank you

Have a great day
Christoph

Christoph, don't remove that nut it will be unnecessary. You will have toi remove the small brass nut under it. This fitting leads to a tube which is inserted into the feed tube on the bottom of the valve chamber.
