Radiator Cap A-8100-C
I saw that C.W. Moss sells a radiator cap for the 30-31 A with part number A-8100-C on ebay for what seems to be a fair price. According to the packaging shown in the picture, this cap is manufactured by Vintique Inc. Anyone have any experience with the fit and finish of these caps? After my last go-around with purchasing a reproduction cap, I'm a bit more leery - I dont want to buy another shiny paperweight. Thanks for any info you may be able to provide.

Re: Radiator Cap A-8100-C
So Fella's, any suggestions on a good source for a replacement cap? Who makes the cap that the dealer's like Mac's and Snyder's sell? Is it the same Vintique one?
I'm just looking for a cap that will seal well and matches the domed top gas cap I have on the car. Dont really care if it's new or used, chrome or stainless. The cap I have on there now is an old used one with a flat top and is prone to leaking when the coolant foams up in the top tank. The cap that came on the car was so rusty inside that the ears where just barely existant. I'd appreciate any info that can point me to a useable solution. Thank you all! |

Why don't you search for an original one restored? Or even not restored.. They're out there.....best way to get a proper fit....

Re: Radiator Cap A-8100-C
Their are curently three different manufacturers of both 1930-1931 radiator caps and gas caps.
The Snyders "Eaton " copy is the best. The Vintique is the distant 2nd best. The United/pacific is a very distant third. We stock the good ones. about $20 in stainless. Steve @ Bert's in Denver |
