Default Model A engine serial number Identification

Weird serial number on this motor.

Yes! From what I can tell the number is weird - looks like the star, I2I57I & another star. The surface does not look like it has been machined although the numbers appear to be lightly stamped. My guess is the engine was used for some type of commercial equipment like an air compressor or generator.
