Ford used a lot of light yellow colors over the years. A friend of mine had a 1966 Mustang that was called sahara beige and it is a similar shade. Some of the different yellows used were only a small fraction of a different shade of yellow but Ford would change the color name every year. In 1964 it was sunlight yellow but it looks pretty close to the same shade.

One of my 51 Mercury cars was a dark blue color on the bottom with a light gray color on top so they had some color combinations that were a bit different that what folks would want in this day and age. This light color on the top kept the interior temperatures lower in the summer heat. No AC in those days but they had a hell of a vent system.

Have you seen one like that?
I saw an original ad with a black car with a bright yellow top. Looked kind of funky.
You might try photoshoping a few pictures of your car. Unfortunately not a skill I have mastered.

That makes total sense. I didn't even think about that.
Thanks.

LOL. Me neither. Thats a good idea.
I may just keep it green on green. I think if I were to go two tone I would go with a white on top.

Here is your two tone paint job.
Have not done an actual two tone on a '53 Merc. since back in the '50's.
As an auto body apprentice I did have a hand in prepping Lincolns and Mercurys for two toning.
They were supplied to us by the local dealer for two toning at customer request.
Was a simple process, just de-wax, mask and spray a coat of XIM bonding agent followed by color. (There was not any sanding involved)

WOW!!!!! You have some mad skills. Thanks for doing the photoshopping. The car really doesn't look half bad with the yellow top.
