emergency brake cables
I was reluctant to post but here goes.I have a set of rear Lincoln backing plates that I am putting on a 40 ford rear.I am looking for a source for the E-Brake cables. These are the style that are held in with 2 bolts.I'm unsure if the cover is part of the cable or if it is seperate.I've looked on my own but unable to find a source. If someone could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it .I think the backing plates are 39 to 41 vintage
Thanks Bill |

Re: emergency brake cables
I used Nicopress to join together an e brake cable for my car... I used to use VW
e brake cable for odd things like this cause they were real cheap... I don't have a suggestion for the housings, junk yard maybe... Karl |

Re: emergency brake cables
There are two pieces that are bolted to the backing plate. One piece is welded to the cable housing and the second piece is separate and shaped similar and is bolted over the piece on the cable housing. I have the cable and housings for the Lincoln e brake, but one strand of the cable is broken if you are interested. PM me if you are interested.

Re: emergency brake cables
Bill...Took some pics of the bolt-on, stamped-metal pieces I referred-to in my first post. As you can see, the cable goes thru this piece. NOTE: It should actually be rotated 180 degrees on the plate, and mounted with the protrusion toward the inside. Sorry, I have NO spares. Hope this may help. DD

Re: emergency brake cables
MT Products sells those as part of their kit. Maybe they will sell those separatetly. I used their kit on my 40 and used the stock 40 E-brake cable. I just had to shorten the tubular part.
