EDMUND dual carb intake.
I found a Edmund dual card intake for my 46 that is local and for a decent price and it comes with one old carb that will need Rebuilt (Ken?) . Question is is Edmund intakes ok . Any known problems with them ? I tried a couple times to post some pictures of it but for some reason it wont let me. It has four broken bolts on it that shouldn't be a problem I can machine them out. I think Id like to polish it and the clear powder coat it. If Ken ct is out there are you up for rebuilding me another carb seeing what a nice job you did on the last one. Now I have a electric fuel pump and a manual pump aswell will the manual pump be able to keep up with dual carbs or will I have to put a regulator on the elec pump and run that all the time ?

Re: EDMUND dual carb intake.
The engine should use LESS fuel in the carbs are set up right. If the engine is stock, dual carbs are alittle over kill at low speed and the addition of 2" risers under the carbs will improve city driving. Get a copy of JWL's book, He goes into detail on this. Make sure your ignition system is working right. In proper working order it better than most aftermarket units.

Re: EDMUND dual carb intake.
I am using an Edmunds manifold that has the carbs close together so as to have generator in stock position. I have 2" risers under the carbs and it works great. Using Stroms by Uncle Max.

Re: EDMUND dual carb intake.
I advise against powder coating intakes. Why? I've done it......twice. Any gas leak will discolor under the powder coat, turning it a sickly yellow. Unlike raw aluminum it can't be cleaned.

The engine is pretty much stock inside. But plenty of power for the little car. You can see a couple of pictures in my profile. It's the most fun car I've built. Thanks Paul |
