Re: Anyone have a 6V bulb number
The #51 bulb is 1 candle power and was used for various dash lighting applications on the old 6-volt vehicles.

Re: Anyone have a 6V bulb number
Is there another number or "Body" number, Napa isn't showing anything 6V with p51 and the ones I've found on Ebay that look like the bulb aren't showing "51" or "P51" as a number??

Re: Anyone have a 6V bulb number
I think Mazda-GE made the original numbers for the old Ford bulbs. This was when Thomas Edison was still around. Ford put their own part numbers on the GE bulbs. C&G has a pretty good run down here.

Re: Anyone have a 6V bulb number
This is "LIKE" what I am looking. The glass is the same size as the body. The socket fits horizontal "almost" flush against the dash behind the hi beam indicator jewel. There are a few listed on Ebay BUT cannot verify the diameter of the base is correct OR not sure IF there were more than one "small" sized body for this type of bulb. THE socket receptacle I have is for a 1941 Ford Pickup Hi Beam indicator!!!

Part #13466-0044. It is listed for a 53-55 Mercury radio dial, but the same light bulbs are used for many other places. The bulb is the same size as the base. It is listed in the 49-59 Ford catalog on page 157 along with all the interior light bulbs. Hope this helps, best wishes, John

Re: Anyone have a 6V bulb number
It is likely the same socket type as the #51 (BA9s). There were #44 and #47 numbers with the elongated globe. The difference is the candle power. The #44 is brighter than the #47. They used the #44 in a lot of pin ball machines so they are still available. I doubt if that is what the car originally had though. The #51 should have been OEM for quite a few years in the 6-volt era. The #51 has a very slightly higher candle power than the #44.
You can use the #44 if it fits better than the #51. |
