Re: PHOTOS: Let's See 1938-'40 Tudors!!!!!
Here are a few pics of mine. Just got it after a couple years of chasing. It was purchased Jan 13, 1945 by the father of the guy I git it from. He purchased it in Big Springs Texas, and drove it till 1956. He gave nme the 1945 title and all registrations till it was parked. My plan is to dearch the springs add new big and little WW tires and drive it.... It has a few wierd accessories, spotlight mirror, fog light, columbia rear, foxcraft skirts, and aftermarket plaid seatcovers over the original seats... It also has a couple of filters on the inner fenders that say perry coolant filters, any ideas?

Kirk, not running full caps, but any idea what these inner trim rings are about? the ribs run the wrong way? but they clip into the windows on the 40 wheels, like they were made for them. Car had two sets with it

Here's a 40 tudor. This pic was taken in 1940 of my mother-in-law and her first husband shortly before he was killed in the war. Note the rear skirts and hub caps. She says it was maroon in color.

My 40 Standard, previous owner and a bit before I bought it. Thought the wheel covers, skirts and visor were pretty cool, looks as if he was proud of it.
img017.jpg Right now it's scattered around the shop but going back together. I love the history but just can't quite bring myself to putting the skirts back on. DSC_0070.jpg |

This is a good friend, Joe Gaskell's '39 daily driver. Black diamond tuck interior. Car runs all over Tucson. Best part is, it's owned by a young guy who gets it, and does pinstriping.

Re: PHOTOS: Let's See 1938-'40 Tudors!!!!!
Here's mine. I just picked it up and am getting to know it. The wife even likes it too. I sold my Studebaker a couple of years ago when times got lean and have been waiting for the right deal to come along. This one is a good, solid standard. Not completely original. I can't believe how simple these old cars are! It's obvious Henry designed them to be constructed quickly by some with less than a high school education. And the headroom in this thing is outrageous.
Maybe I should change my name from Studearch to Fordarch and get a top hat? How come nobody has added to this thread for so long? |

Re: PHOTOS: Let's See 1938-'40 Tudors!!!!!
If it makes you feel better, I'm probably farther behind you on my Tudor, I had to buy the contents of the falling down barn and all 4 1940's to get the Tudor on the right.
