I will probably get a steering box/column rebuilt this fall or winter,my question is which one to use or work with? I have two now but logic would say work with the better of the two right? One is Gemmer manufacture and the other has the big "F" which I have learned is Ford.One bit of info I found seems to say that more were made by Ford than Gemmer but all or I should say two of the vendors I checked with only provide parts for the Gemmer one.I think the parts will fit a Ford one but everything else has to be changed making that direction more expensive. I guess I will end up inspecting both and as in the past try to go with the worn with the least worn sector and worm.I do not like to use the foreign worm gears as I have had bad expierence with not Model A ones but Early V-8.Thanks for any good insight.

If I remember correctly the Ford one uses different angles on the bearings---
The reproduction parts fit gemmer

I bought a core as a back for a rebuild this winter. It might be a Ford box, are they interchangeable with the different columns? One would think the parts will fit both boxes correct?

If you change the worm and races can you use either box?
