I was talking to someone (I can't remember who) that said I can replace the single barrel Holly on my 1947 flathead straight six with a later model carb from an early 60's ford six cylinder.. Does anyone know what model car/engine he was talking about and the model/brand of the carburetor?

There is an outfit who makes new single barrel carbs to fit most sixes now. They advertise in Old cars weekly, and I don't have them anymore

There is a seller on ebay that has these. They're China knock-offs for $80-90.

I wouldn't risk cheaping out with a Chinese carb. There's no long term testing on the quality of these things. Do you want to find out the hard way and risk an engine fire to save a few bucks.
I think you could go with a Carter YF. They were used on Ford sixes into the 70's.
