If your upholstery is mohair here is what LB says:
https://www.lebaronbonney.com/lbinsi...to-upholstery/ and
https://www.google.com/webhp?sourcei...air+upholstery

After cleaning a fully dry I spray on Scotchgard, including door panels and headliner.

Thanks for the response 19Fordy.

My cabriolet has the 80% wool Broadcloth. The 33-34 Restoration Manual calls it tan Bedford cord cloth. It's in pretty good shape but could use a bit of cleaning. I'm being careful because I sure don't want to do anything that might screw it up. I manage to do enough of that by accident.

Thanks 19Fordy for the AACA link. That's scary. Maybe I'm better off leaving it as is with it's vintage dirt.

I do have a friend in the dry cleaning business, maybe I need to talk with him.

That dry cleaning friend may be a big help as they use special chemicals that may not harm your fabric. However, if there is a HUGE noticeable difference between the old fabric and the newly cleaned fabric you might want to leave it alone. It's all part of the patina. The stuff dry cleaners used years ago was called PERC. Maybe they now have a newer chemical.
