Default 34 ford Where are the window stops?

I am working on the door windows on my '34 Cabriolet and I need to remove the windows. I have been told on this site that the key to removing the windows is to first remove the door window stops. I have looked extensively and cannot locate the window stops.

So if anyone here knows where the window stops are and how to remove them I will be very grateful to receive that information.

Thanks, Bill Brown

The stops are on the regulator. There is a hole in the door panel for access. Although there are several styles of the stops the early one is usually a hex shaped brass with an offset 10-32 threads through. If you loosen the screw in the threads you can turn the brass to another position allowing more or less travel. In order to get a course adjustment you change holes in the regulator. I believe the stop is only in the window down position. The stop prevents the regulator gears from moving past the adjustment.

There is a brass hex head fastener on the regulator that stops the large gear from rotating all the way when the window is down. It should be accessible through an opening in the door panel. If you remove this stop screw, the regulator arms can rotate all the way down to vertical. In that position, they can come out of the channel in the window retainer.

Thanks again for the help. Just in case someone else looks at this thread in the future I'm adding a couple of photos showing where the stops are accessed and what they look like.

It would be nice to see a photo or two of the regulators if you remove them.

Well, I would have photographed the regulators( I like to photograph everything) but I was unable to remove the window. I was able to to get the rearward arm loose but not the forward arm. Now I'm wondering if the door glass window channel is incorrect. I looked at the photos in Appendix K of the 1933-34 Restoration Manual and my channel isn't like any of the ones shown but then none of the channels shown are listed for 40-760.

So After I found that my issue didn't require glass removal anyway, I fixed my problem ( the bottom screw holding the rear guide channel was too long and interfering with the window movement) and just re-lubed everything I could reach and buttoned it back up.

Thanks again for your help.
