Default 1931 model A engine noise

My engine starts and runs what seems to be normally until it has been driven for at least 30 minutes. At random times the engine then starts making a noise that sounds similar to a stuck valve. The only thing is that it does not loose power. As soon as the noise starts I push in on the clutch, turn off the ignition and coast to the side of the road. Often by the time I have gotten off of the road with the car still barely moving I will restart the engine by letting out the clutch. Normally with that short time the engine will sound normal for a while. If I continue driving it will usually reappear but will go away with the same sequence.
I changed the oil and filtered it. No abnormal contaminants. Today I removed the valve cover. I have found a trace of silver fine particles in the oil tray below the valves. It looks like there is the same material at the bottom of the distributor shaft.
Any suggestions from the Model A guru's
Thanks

I would use 8 to 10 oz's for the first tank and thin back of to 4 oz's. You should run 2 or 3 tanks before you will know if it is a valve. If nothing else it will do your car a lot of good to run a upper lube ( MM )

You could have a weak valve spring or the plunger spring could be getting weak. How many miles are on this engine

No real way to describe it on the computer lol. Its kinda like rat tatatatata rat tatatatatata then some popping, possibly throw in some ticking noise, and a loss of power.

But sounds like you should find where the metal shavings are coming from to begin with, then go from there.
