Default carburetor i.d.

Have a square bowled carb identified as "Made in the U.S.A." Patent. 1,536,043. There are no other markings on the carb. Tried the patent office but it seems there might be no easy way to find patents issued before 1976.

Help! Thanking you in advance for any help you can give me regarding i.d. of this carb.

Quite likely its a Marvel Schebler made for the "A".

Bob

Thanks for your help. I saved the patent info that you sent me.

There is an article in the Sept/ Oct Restorer entitled “Model A Era Carburetors” by Steve Pargeter and Dick Punchard. I read it but completely missed the Johnson JFA carb images. The patent number and all were there clear as day. The carb was manufactured in Flint, Michigan by the Marvel-Schebler Corp (then a Borg Warner subsidiary).

It’s time for an overhaul!

Thanks again for your help!
