Default redneck gas tank story

My brother was wanting to buy his deceased brother-in-laws 1930 C**** sedan that has been sitting for 20-25 years and needed a little help to get it running. The gas tank was dry and it's condition unknown. We hooked up a new battery, hit the starter and had a good spark! Now for the fuel.Updraft carburetor.... uh oh,how do we prime it and get fuel in this thing? Nearby was an old lawn edger. In about five seconds I had the quart sized gas tank and fuel line off. Next we removed the line from the carburetor side of the fuel pump and forced the rubber hose from the edger tank over it. Now it's gravity fed. After a couple of stomps on the starter button it was running!
I'm sure it's been done before but my brother now thinks I'm a genius.I'm going to leave it at that.
